AmeriCorp VISTA: Program Development

AmeriCorps VISTA is a national service program that places members in communities to alleviate and eliminate poverty. Service opportunities are available as full-time, typically 40 hours per week, during the year-long term. VISTAs implement projects that create and expand programming, develop long-term resources and strengthen community partnerships. For the WCCA project, the VISTA will be working closely with our Food Shelf to help build capacity through community outreach and launching new services. Benefits include a living allowance, Health Benefit Plan, housing allowance, childcare assistance (if eligible) and an Education Award or cash stipend at the end of service.

Eligible VISTAs must be 18 years of age, a high school graduate (or have completed a GED) and a U.S. citizen, national, or legal permanent resident alien of the U.S.

Year-long terms are July 25th 2017 through July 2018.

WIC Nutritionist

The WIC Nutrition Technician’s primary role is to help carry out the goals and objectives of the WIC Program. The Nutrition Technician is responsible for assisting with the on-going development, implementation and documentation of nutrition, breastfeeding, child development, referrals, health screening and other related activities in the WIC program. This position conducts supervised client certifications and is responsible for assisting with a variety of nutrition related record keeping. Requirements: Degree in nutrition, dietetics or other similar qualified professional field. Must possess strong communication skills and ability to accurately maintain program records.
