Wright County Community Action has launched services specifically for seniors! The Assisted Transportation program provides rides for seniors (age 60 years and older) who need assistance getting to medical appointments, pharmacy pick-ups, nutrition needs, personal care appointments and faith-based social outings. This door-to-door service is provided by trained volunteer drivers with their own personal vehicles.

General intake and ride appointments are coordinated through the WCCA Dispatcher and clients are quickly paired with a volunteer driver. Please allow at least 48 hours of advanced notice to schedule rides. Rides are currently being provided for Wright County residents only.

To help sustain WCCA’s services for a growing aging population and to comply with grant funders, individuals participating in the assisted transportation program will be asked to share in the cost of the service, or a portion of the cost, based on ability to pay. These cost sharing fees will be based on a self-proclaimed gross monthly income as well as household size. All contributions back to the assisted transportation program allow us to serve more Wright County senior residents.

For 2021, the cost share guidelines are based on $2.03/ per mile fee for service rate. For more information about your individual cost share rate, please call the dispatcher at (320) 963-6500 ext. 241.
