Energy Assistance Program (EAP) helps eligible households maintain affordable, continuous, and safe home energy. Our services include bill payment assistance, home energy crisis intervention, outreach, energy advocacy, information about utility consumer rights, and referrals.
For many Minnesotans, utility bills account for more than 25% of their income. Do you need support paying your electric or heating bills? WCCA is here to help!
Energy Assistance is a program that is designed to assist income eligible households with the cost of energy and heating your home, assistance is not meant to cover the costs entirely.
Everyone deserves affordable, continuous, and safe home energy services. If you encounter home heating and/or electricity difficulties, we can assist you with your bill, crisis benefits, and furnace repair/replacements (for homeowners). In addition, we can provide information about utility consumer rights and referrals to our Energy Conservation services and other community agencies
Applications are now available for the 2024-2025 program year and will be accepted until May 31, 2025. Applications are processed on a first in first out basis, according to priority. Thank you for your patience as we process applications. Once an application is submitted, please allow several weeks during our peak season for it to be processed.
In addition to the Energy Assistance Funding, programs such as the Energy Assistance Crisis funds and Reach Out for Warmth, may be available if you’ve already exhausted your energy assistance award.
For more information regarding the Energy Assistance Program within the state of Minnesota, please see the MN Dept of Commerce website.
