Home Repair Loans help clients maintain low cost housing in a condition that is safe, healthy, energy efficient, and accessible. These improvements also help to maintain the quality of housing stock in local communities. WCCA helps clients apply for several types of major home repair loans, some of which are community based, while others operate throughout Minnesota Housing Finance Agency or USDA Rural Development.

Homeowners select their own contractors and determine the scope of their repair work. All repair work is inspected and approved by WCCA and the homeowner. In all loan programs, we serve eligible homeowners on a first come, first serve basis. Clients must be current on their property taxes, meet income and asset limits, the home to be repaired must be the primary residence of the homeowner and be insured. Homeowners either qualify for a deferred, no, or low interest home improvement loan. Generally, deferred loans are not repaid until the homeowner sells, transfers or ceases to live in the home that’s been improved.
