Wright County Community Action provides housekeeping and chore services for seniors (age 60 years and older) who need assistance maintaining their homes. These services are provided by a WCCA employee who provides cleaning, organization and meal preparation for those that may need spontaneous or regular help in their home. A full list of eligible service is outlined below.
General intake and scheduling a home visit is done over the phone. Home visits are conducted by your scheduled Homemaker/Housekeeper before services begin. This ensures clients are comfortable with the person conducting services and gives a chance for the client to ask any questions about eligible services and the costs of service. The Dispatcher then does a follow up phone call before services are scheduled.
To help sustain WCCA’s services for a growing aging population and to comply with grant funders, individuals participating in the homemaker and chore program will be asked to share in the cost of the service, or a portion of the cost, based on ability to pay. These cost sharing fees will be based on a self-proclaimed gross monthly income as well as household size. All contributions back to the program allow us to serve more Wright County senior residents. Services are partially funded under contract with the Central MN Council on Aging as part of the Older Americans Act Program and in part, by a Live Well at Home grant from Minnesota Department of Human Services.
For 2021, the cost share guidelines are based on $38.39 per hour of service. For more information about your individual cost share rate, please call our Aging Specialist at (320) 963-6500 ext. 274.
Clients in Albertville, Hanover, Monticello, and St. Michael seeking housekeeping and chore services should contact the HOME program provided by Senior Community Services at (763) 416-7969.
